Black Panther Official Review: Spoiler Free

Image
Last night I had the fortune of attending the opening screening of Black Panther , and while I did love it, I've got to say that unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype for me. I think the biggest reason why is because it was SO hyped up that I whole heartedly expected to be blown away. Leading up to the film, I was seeing reviews saying it was somewhat political and an "eye opening experience" which got me worried because, as a 22 year old guy, I don't necessarily want to get into politics when I'm watching a superhero movie. That may sound immature or naive but I go to the movies to get away from the super messed up, super political world we live in; not to be sent into another political world. However, it wasn't as political as Captain America: Winter Soldier , so that's a plus. Overall, I really did enjoy the movie, and if you take the political aspect out of it, it's easily number 2 or 3 on my MCU list. The movie takes place ...

Friday Five: Top 5 Marvel Movies

Image
Welcome back to another edition of the Friday Five! This week's rankings is one that I've wanted to do for a while, but had to wait for the right time. Now, we all know I love to rank things and make lists, and I love movies. My favorite genre of movies is probably superhero movies because I love the idea that there is good in the world and someone will be there to save the people. In my opinion, if we're talking superhero movies, the company that makes the best by far is Marvel. While DC has a couple of movies that I like (Wonder Woman, Justice League, Suicide Squad), they also have a pretty big miss on a movie based on the face of the DC Franchise (Man of Steel). On the other hand, Marvel consistently pumps out amazing movies at a rate of 2-3 per year, with no whiffs. I'm sure eventually there will be a post comparing the two comic book movie companies, but that's not today. Today's post is ranking my Top Five Marvel Movies. As much as I love all the movies ...

Friday Five: Top 5 Super Bowl Moments

Image
Earlier this week, the Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl 52 when they shocked the world and upset the heavily favored New England Patriots. As I watched the game, I thought to myself there are some pretty great moments in this game; and really, there are great moments in every game. But I feel like the past few Super Bowls have given us some crazy memorable moments; from Tracy Porter returning a Peyton Manning interception for a touchdown, to Mario Manningham dragging two feet in bounds against the Patriots, to Brady's unbelievable comeback against the Falcons, to Malcolm Butler intercepting Russell Wilson at the 1 yard line. And who could forget David Tyree's helmet catch? All in all, there have been some great moments; and while I love football, I love making lists even more. So this week, I decided the Friday Five would be my top 5 Super Bowl moments! I'm going to start off with a couple of honorable mentions. Now, I made sure to include only moments that I saw live...

Super Bowl 52 Trailer Review Series: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Image
Last night we saw one of the greatest Super Bowls in recent memory, and I feel every year the game is just as good as the one before. Now, while I have PLENTY to say about the game and breakdown that down, this post is strictly for one of my favorite parts of the Big Game: the commercials. But not just the commercials, I wanna talk about the movie trailers that were released last night/this morning (looking at you, Solo.) So to recap, the main trailers we got was Solo: A Star Wars Story, Avengers: Infinity War, Mission Impossible: Fallout, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Cloverfield. Now, if I'm being honest, I have really no idea about anything involving Mission Impossible or Cloverfield; that being said, I'll be breaking down the other three trailers, plus the new Solo trailer that debuted this morning on Good Morning America. So let's start with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Okay so if you haven't seen the trailer, stop what you're doing, get o...
